As we all know many features in Photoshop. Action is one of the features in Photoshop. An Action is a recording of a sequence of events within Adobe Photoshop. Repetitive and complexes tasks can be recorded and ‘played-back’ at a later point saving time and effort. Actions can be saved and shared and will remain with Adobe Photoshop for future use. This action is used for creating new special effects and that can be shared by other Photoshop user. Free actions are available in many website we can download and make use of it otherwise we can create our own actions. Actions are similar to plug in like photo brushes and styles. Here we go how to create actions in Photoshop.
Creating Actions
- Find your action palette. (Menu: Windows > Actions)
- Create a new action.(which is show below in picture)
- Record the actions that we want. While in recording button color has changed to red.
- We can create our own actions.(for example: Photo frame, photo effects, Color styles etc.,)
- Stop it. After completion of our action.
- We can check it easily by clicking play button.
Action Installation
- To install Adobe Photoshop Action, locate the following folder: “…/Adobe Photoshop/Presets/Photoshop Actions”
- Create a new folder within the above address and call it – “your action name”
- Start up Adobe Photoshop
- Open the Actions floating palette (menu: Window > Actions)
- Click on the small arrow with in a circle at the top right hand corner of the palette and choose “Load Actions”
- Load your Action file (from the folder you created earlier) to complete.
- From the same menu you can also change to ‘Button Mode’, making it easier to access this action.
- You are now ready to use this action within Photoshop.
Use of Action
- Action is mainly used for photo effects, photo manipulation etc,
- In complex tasks it Save more time.
- Easy to execute for a multiple similar tasks.
